HotDiaryTM respects and protects the privacy of it's members. When you become a member of HotDiaryTM, we take the
following steps to ensure privacy:
- You control who gets access to your information - We do not give your
personal information to anyone without your permission. This includes your profile, and the entries in your diary.
- Your name is not listed, sold or given away without your permission - We keep your name, address,
and other profile information private if you choose the appropriate options while registering or at a later point after registering. We do not sell or donate your information or your personal diary to any third parties unless you have selected the "Inform Me" or "Make My ID Public" checkbox while registering or at a later point after registering. Note that if HotDiary Inc. gets acquired by a parent company, your information will be managed by the parent company, and they may choose to alter this policy at that time.
- Your personal diary is not used for direct marketing - Although we store
the data in your personal diary in our database, we do not use the information in your personal diary to target
you with any direct marketing, unsolicited email or other campaigns. Your personal diary is strictly for your personal
use.
- Your information is secure - We provide data security for your personal
information. This means, your information is guarded from other members. In addition, you are given the opportunity
to choose a password that only you will know, and is difficult for others to guess. Without knowing your password
and login, other users do not have access to your personal information. Note that we do not gaurantee the integrity of your data, in case of server shutdowns, company shutdowns or any other major events.
- Your session is secure - With HotDiary, it is not possible for two persons to use HotDiary at the same time using the same member login. If someone logs in with your ID, while you are logged in, you get automatically logged out. This is an alert to you that someone is logging in as you. Also, it is not possible for anyone to monitor what you are doing. This is because, we
protect the pages in your session from other users. Also, we expire the pages that are displayed in your browser as much as possible without compromising convenience. This reduces any risks associated with keeping your session private.
- Your login is not searchable - There is no way to seach for your login
member name on our database. You control who is aware of your login name. Even if others guess a valid login in
the system, they cannot tell if it is your login, since it is not listed. Only if you allow your member ID to be public, we allow everyone to search for you by your first name and last name.
