How was WordIt! developed?
WordIt! was developed using simple scripting software. Any english page or literature can be fed as input, and the script produces all the unique words it finds in the document. The hard part was the cleanup of this list, which resulted in throwing many non-English words and phrases, un-necessary punctuations and other un-needed words. It took about 14 months to compile the initial list, and new words are being added to the list on a periodic basis.

Aren't there other websites offering this?
Yes there are. (Although we found some in bits and pieces). What makes
our product useful, is the simplicity. The fact that it's a simple zip
file with nothing but words, empowers the user with a lot of flexibility.
Legal English Words
Unlike other sites where you find just "any words", WordIt goes through
constant inspection and has high linguistic quality. Although many of
the words in this list are not even found in commercially available
dictionaries, if you search deep enough into more literature archives
in libraries around the world, you are likely to find the same words.
A lot of commercial dictionaries do not include scientific and
technical words, but these are all part of WordIt!
